The AVI SW-380 is a compact low frequency speaker system, based upon our proprietary AVI 380mm subwoofer driver, designed for applications where high output capability and small size are required. The drive element features cast chassis, and resin treated paper cone with a damped-roll suspension. The moving assembly is precisely driven by a bass-optimized 75mm (3") voice coil in a narrow gap, using a massive, high flux magnet. The compact, highly efficient SW-380 system is capable of tremendous deep-bass output, so is ideal for augmenting the bass output of smaller speaker systems. The acoustically optimized multi-ply Baltic Birch enclosure is vented for maximum low frequency output, and creates a rugged and reliable speaker system, for touring or installed sound systems. It is finished in textured black polyurethane, and may be painted to blend into any decor.

The SW-380 adds drama, impact and a solid bass foundation for hi-fi playback in live performance venues, restaurants, cinemas, nightclubs, health or sports facilities, and shoping centres. The small size of the SW-380 makes it possible to conceal several units under a stage, or in another inconspicuous location. For high-output dance music playback, multiple SW-380 super-bass systems can be employed around the dance floor, or assembled into a single bass array for maximum low frequency output. The AVI SW-380 extends the power-bandwidth abilities of AVI full-range speaker systems, or any small speaker systems that can benefit from additional deep-bass energy.

The use of an electronic crossover will provide maximum control and flexibilty, but in simple sound systems, the SW-380 may be connected in parallel with the main speaker system. If an electronic crossover is used, it should ideally be set for 35Hz high pass, 90~120Hz low pass, 12dB or 18dB per octave, with a Bessel contour.
