The AVI CL-170 is a compact loudspeaker system based upon our proprietary AVI 165mm woofer and 25mm silk dome tweeter, designed for in-ceiling applications where high output capability and excellent sound quality are required. The advanced woofer has a treated paper LF cone with a damped-roll suspension, and the tweeter has Ferrofluid cooling to reduce distortion and improve power handling. The woofer is precisely driven by a low mass voice coil in a narrow gap, using a high flux magnet. By coaxially mounting the two drivers, smooth response, high output and consist ant coverage are provided without 'lobing' or other interference. The fire retardant ABS mounting ring is simple and economical to install, and creates a reliable speaker system, for high-quality installed sound systems. It may be painted to blend into any decor. By eliminating the passive crossover network, these AVI speaker systems provide consistent and predictable dispersion, and a 'natural' sound quality, immediately noticeable with spoken word or vocal program material. Their small size makes them ideal for high quality music playback in restaurants, nightclubs, sports, health and conference facilities, and retail outlets. They may also be built into staircases, arrayed along the lip of the stage in theatres, or hung from lighting suspension points or scenery, as special effects speakers. The AVI small PF and AW ranges also include single, double and triple-driver speaker an line-array systems based on full-range acoustic components. The CL-170 should be used in music playback systems where the program material has extended treble response. The AVI CL-170 in-ceiling systems may be mixed with our PF or AW-series speakers, covering other areas within a single installation, for long, medium and short throw applications.
AVI loudspeakers are hand built in our own facility in Canada, using the finest components available, with sound quality as the primary design criterion.
